Photo provided FLINT — HealthPlus of Michigan employees recently raised more than $3,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint as a result of HealthPlus employee participation in several fundraising efforts.

“Like the companies who support us, we work toward certain goals,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint President and CEO Reta Stanley upon accepting a check at a recent ceremony at the HealthPlus headquarters building in Flint. “Generous contributions from organizations like HealthPlus help us reach those goals and provide Big Brothers Big Sisters services to children in our community who need those services the most.”

The total HealthPlus contribution of more than $3,400 was the result of the company’s corporate donation, employee participation in the annual Big Sisters Big Brothers of Greater Flint Bowling Challenge, and a “Jeans Day” fundraiser through which employees were allowed to wear jeans to work in exchange for a contribution to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint.

“HealthPlus employees are extremely civic-minded,” said HealthPlus Community Relations Administrator Louis Hawkins. “They contribute their time, energy, and money to initiatives that are important to the community year after year.” — G.G.
