8th annual SKIP Fun Fair coming Feb. 24

SWARTZ CREEK — The 8th Annual SKIP Fun Fair is scheduled for Feb. 24 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Mary Crapo School.

SKIP families and children from birth to fifth grade are invited, as well as families of young children interested in learning more about the program, including prenatal families-to-be.

Child Development Center Director Lynn Cavett said that Swartz Creek has the largest SKIP program in the county with 360 children enrolled and that Senator John Gleason and Representative Jim Ananich will be present to hear the effects of Early Childhood Education and the affects funding SKIP (Successful Kids = Involved Parents) has had.

There will be games and prizes for children. Game tickets are 10 for $1, and raffle tickets for $1 before and after the event — you don’t need to be present to win and can purchase them by calling the SKIP office at 810-591- 4355. Proceeds will be used to fund field trips for Swartz Creek SKIP Program children. — M.R.
