Lady Dragons let early lead slip away against Holly

CLARKSTON — The Swartz Creek girls’ bowling team faced off with Holly at Cherry Hills Lanes North in Clarkston last Saturday, ending up on the wrong side of a 16.5-13.5 decision. Swartz Creek let an early lead slip away, as it was up, 10-0, after the BALER games. Creek won the BAKER games, 170-144 and 184-161.

The Bronchos fought back during match play winning the first match, 785-709, and earning eight points to get within, 11-8. During the second match, Creek fell, 839-817, and lost the match overall.

Leading the Lady Dragons was Savannah Dougherty with a 203 game and Taylor Sheahan with a 199.

The Lady Dragons are now in a tie for second place with a 6-2 record matched by Holly. Kearsley is 8-0 and rounding out the league is Lapeer West and Fenton at 4-4, Lapeer East and Clio at 3-5, Brandon at 2-6 and Linden at 0-8.

The Dragons were ranked seventh in Div. 2 as of the Feb. 10 rankings.

BOYS

The boys’ team is currently in a tie for the Metro League lead with Lapeer East with a 7-1 record. Lapeer West and Kearsley are currently 6-2, Holly is 4-4, Clio, Brandon and Linden are all 2-6 and Fenton is 0-8.

As of Feb. 10, the Creek boys’ team was ranked seventh in Div. 2.
