Friday night dance

SWARTZ CREEK – The Swartz Creek Senior Citizen Center, 8095 Civic Drive, will host a dance for people age 50 and older from 6-8:30 p.m. Sept. 14. $4 at the door. Pizza, refreshments, snacks available for purchase. – L.R.

Art show

Car cruise

CLAYTON TOWNSHIP – Faith Missionary Church, 1327 N. Elms Road, will sponsor a car cruise from 3-6 p.m. Sept. 16. Cars, trucks, motorcycles welcome. First 50 receive dated dash plaques. Awards for Participant Vote, Pastor’s Pick and Spectator’s Choice. Free admission. No registration required. Hot dogs, chips and pop available. – L.R.

SWARTZ CREEK – Coloring Club for adults meets from 2-4:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Perkins Library, 8095 Civic Drive. Free. – L.R.

Acrylic painting class

SWARTZ CREEK – The Swartz Creek Area Art Guild will sponsor an evening adult acrylic painting class from 8:30-11:30 p.m. Sept. 20. Explore using acrylics to depict small landscapes, still life and other subjects. $35 includes supplies. – L.R.

Euchre tournament

SWARTZ CREEK – The Knights of Columbus will host a euchre tournament Sept. 21 at St. Mary’s, 4413 Morrish Road. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m., play at 7 p.m. $5 per person. 810-635-3684. – L.R.

Galactic Goo

SWARTZ CREEK – Children age 6-12 can learn about molecules and polymers when an educator from Sloan Longway presents Galactic Goo from 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 22 at the Perkins Library. Spaghetti dinner fundraiser

FLINT TOWNSHIP – A spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the Leonard sisters will take place from 2-6 p.m. Sept. 23 at VFW/AMVETS Post 3720, 3131 Elms Road. The Leonards lost both parents within months. The oldest daughter is 23 and has custody of her 16-year-old sister. She also has taken on the debt left by their parents. – L.R.
